Have my pipes been changed already?!?

I recently scooped up a 05 S for a little fun and went ahead and ordered the coolant pipe kit as a precautionary measure along with some other parts. However as I was fooling around with my cell cam earlier around the back of the engine it appears that they may have already been replaced Carfax records do not indicate they were changed and I can't get a hold of anyone on the phone at the Porsche dealer it was serviced at in the past. Are there any DIY's here that can tell If they were changed from any of these pics? I really appreciate any feedback you guys can give as I have spent $600+ (sunco)

Kinda looks like they have been. Hard to tell, but that sure looks like shiny metal peeking out.

I see... Thanks for the response guys I know the pics aren't the greatest... I got the check coolant message earlier today, at check the coolant was a little low, so I topped it off. I had a tech guy come by the other day, he got under the truck to take a look and said he believes the pipes are metal but for some reason I'm still a little weary, maybe i'll just hold on to the metal pipes I bought just in case, I guess I can always eat a 200 loss and sell the kit at a discount, I'm changing the plugs and coils backs later this week maybe I can get a better look then, better safe then sorry....

If they hadn't been changed, the area in red would be black plastic. You should be good to go.

If you're not sure, have your mechanic check the next time you have it in for service. They can tell you for certain.

How did you get your phone in there? I tried it the other night but couldn't get anywhere close. I'm guessing you had the plastic trim/cover piece off??

I didn't even take the cover off. it's optional. get someone with relatively small arm if u don't have one. Near the back of the engine by the cover you have to stick your arm down into that little opening in between those little metal hoses near the driver side and then point your camera downward toward the passenger side and snap away it's best to take about 7-10 pictures and do a process of elimination. Be careful not to drop your phone because it will drop down inside the back of the engine almost happen to me and i suggest doing it while the engine is cold cuz I learned the hard way lol.. My tech came through and could also see them from under the car also so that is a possibility. Mine turned out to be aluminum already and unfortunatley I had already bought the kit and used some coolant so I have the whole kit for u if u need.. post your pics here after you take them and we'll help u figure it out it's easy..

Well I couldn't get the same angle as you with the camera. I finally realized that if I just turned it on video and slid it in there maybe I'd catch it. Worked and I ended up with a similar view as yours. So it looks like mine have been changed too. Thanks for the idea!!

Ok cool. Also If you have the carfax and your car was serviced by a Porsche dealer you can also verify by calling the service manager. My carfax didn't say anything about the coolant pipes being changed it just said "recommended service completed" which meant coolant pipes..
