2009 Cayenne S starting problem
2009 Cayenne S starting problem
Hi all,
New here...thanks for having me on your site!
I have a 2009 Cayenne S 4.8 that has an intermittent starting issue. Battery has been replaced so I know this isn't the problem.
Cold starts seem fine, though a bit more laboured than I would like, it's starts when the engine is warm that are a problem.
If I let it cool down for a few mins and try to start it back up it doesn't seem to crank as quickly and then the cranking will stop and I will have to try again. If I try right away it was crank maybe once and stop and I will need to try again.
The fact that I have no issues when cold tells me that it could be a starter on the way out? But given my symptoms before I proceed with a 4+ hour job and expensive new starter I was wondering if there is anything else I should look for first?
Thanks in advance!
Andrew

I have an 09 as well at around 90k miles, my thermostat went so I had the starter & water pump replaced as preventative maintenance. The starters seem to go around 100k and the symptoms you describe are exactly what people stated happens before it fully bites the dust.
