Hi! First Porsche, new Cayenne S and getting familiar with this fine ride. Playing around in the trunk and opened this access panel for the first time over the weekend.. just wondering if anyone knows the purpose of this access panel and what this wire hanging out in it is for?
This seems unfinished for a Porsche.
First image is the access panel in the trunk area, behind the passenger side rear wheel.
Passenger side rear, access panel.
Second image is the panel open and white wire (that looks like may be an antenna). Hanging loose, seems like this should not just be hanging out like this, and tucked away somewhere.
Access panel open. What is this white wire just hanging out in there?
Last image shows the wire (close up) and insulation material loose inside the panel area.
Close up photo. Note wire and loose insulation material inside.
Questions:
* What is this wire for?
* Does this look correct? Is there something missing from this location behind the access panel?
* What should this area look like? I would love to see other's pictures of this area.
* Is this the correct installation of the insulation material at the bottom of this compartment? It is loose and not really attached / affixed to anything.
In general, this area behind the panel appears to be unfinished in my new vehicle. Curious to learn what other 2019-2020 Cayenne owners see in this area.

This panel gives access to the TOW wiring. What you see is the connector for the tow connector plug that goes to the trailer. Even without TOW package, car comes with this wiring in place. This panel is opened to complete installation of Tow hitch and plug.
