What wire did the mouse eat in my engine bay???

I've done some research on rear engine trunk lock/latches and unfortunately couldn't find what this wire is for so I've provided some pictures. A mouse apparently chewed on the wire attached to the rear latch lock while the P car was seated in the garage for several weeks - oh by the way caught mickey using a trap under the P :-)

Planning to just insulate using electrical tape BUT what is this wire for??? Sensor, electric lock?

ZuffenZeus is on a distinguished road
That's your rear lock actuator. I believe it also contains microswitch that alerts you if you leave the rear lid open. The 12V is grounded while open and a "open latch" indicator should show on your dash cluster.
