How often to Wax?

I took delivery on my first porsche, 07 C4S in mid January, and decided what's the point of having it if I didn't actually drive it? So it's my daily car with about 60 miles per day of travel. I've got a little over 13,000 miles on it now. Been pretty good about washing but haven't waxed it yet. I just read somewhere that for a daily driver the car should be waxed once a month. Any thoughts and/or recommendations?

I think a mild clay and wax once a month wont hurt for a daily.

13K and no wax.....it's definitely due for some TLC How often you wax is dependant on the quality of the wax, your washing routine, and if the car is garaged. Good quality waxes such as p21s, einszett, pinnacle, zymol, etc. will typically last from 2 months to almost 8 months on a daily driver with your mileage. The key to getting the longest possible life out of the wax is to wash the car weekly, in you case, or bi-monthly. You should be washing with a mild pH balanced soap such as zymol Clear or p21s bodywork shampoo. The washing and the gentle soap will remove the dirt and grime and help preserve the wax. You should also be applying a liquid wax spray like einszett Detail Spray or zymol Field Glaze. This step will help add more wax to the finish and preserve the layer of wax you originally applied. So in recap, definitely wash, clay, polish, and wax. Then maintain by washing and applying a liquid wax. Hope this helped.

I wash all the cars once a week in the summer & little less year round. I wax once or twice a month, depending on how much rain use the cars get.

I like to have my cars looking show ready most of the time, but in the winter it gets tough.

To be fair, our climate in the NW really does a job on the cars, there is almost always rain in the week & lots of dirt/dust, so a car really needs a weekly wash.

Running into the rainy season here in the Bay Area so your advice is most applicable.

Thanks

Honestly, If your car is a daily. I would do a minimum of a wash, clay, tape, 1z metalic, 1z glanz.

Sofar that combo has beaten out my previous favorite of wash, clay, tape, 106, fmj x2, cg 50/50.

FWIW the 106, fmjx2, cg 50/50 would hold out 4.5-6 months in seattles winter. That is with weekly washes.

I am seeing better results with the 1z. I don't have a full time line to share, but the ease of use, cost, learning curve, and look are initially better. So far i am in 2 months into the 1z combo.
