I did the full wash, Menzerna Polish, and FMJ thing this weekend, then snapped some pics. It was overcast today, which seems to work much better for photographing a dark car. I still have a few microscratches left, but 99.8% of the finish looked good under the 500 watt halogen lamp I had in the garage.

The exhaust is a prototype system that will be sold by one of the turbo tuners when it's ready for prime time. There are no tips on the car now, it's just 3" stainless steel elbows.
I used Menzerna's "Intensive Polish" on an orange Lake Country CCS pad spun by a Porter Cable DA set on ~5.5. Areas with heavy microscratching took 2 passes with the polisher.
Maybe one of our pros can chime in here - I had a hard time knowing when the polish was "done" The drag on the machine never seemed to change, and the polish didn't seem to dry out any. And when I went to wipe it off, I never had the sense of removing a haze, rather it was more like wiping off a very (very!) light oil. The paint surface stayed room temperature cool regardless of pressure or the number of passes over a particular area.

That is a aggressive combo. I take it you were using a rotary? You work the product until it becomes oil like, you can feel it when it changes over, work that in for a bit, then remove. It sounds like you got it there. If you stop before that, there will be haze, mircomarring, & the product will not be so easy to remove.
I started a few months back with Menzerna Final Polish 2 on a less aggressive pad, but it wasn't removing the scratches from the PO. Moe Mistry listened to my description of the symptoms and the products I had (on a Sunday!), then suggested the Intensive Polish on the orange pad. I'm 100% satisfied with the result.

The SIP/NAno combo isn't aggressive in the traditional sense. Both products are Menzerna's flagship polishes that are oil-like and are of the highest quality. This yields you a consistent result that is hologram, swirls, and micro marring free when used with a DA. On lighter colored cars, you can even skip the Nano polish. Unless you have super-soft paint like an Aston Martin, Maserati, the new Infiniti line, etc. you're good with this combo. Always get the expert opinion of whomever is selling you the products.
But on a PC, it's fine, & you will have to work it for a super long time to break it down.
