Tar on black paint

I got either tar or heavy oil down the side of my Cayenne. In early November I did a complete detail using Concours wax that I bought from Moe. I was planning on washing, using tar/bug remover, then washing again. Will the tar remover remove the wax from the car? If so can I just wax it again or should I use HD Cleanse first then wax.

Thanks
Frank

Yes it will remove some of the wax if not all of it. I would do the HD then the wax but I'm sure Moe would have some input.

Well said. You can use goo gone or some sort of tar remover Frank. But be careful and test a small area first. You can also try HD-Cleansing; that removes tar also. If you do use a tar remover, hd and concours again in that area.

HD stands for High Density. I was given the technical answer from the founders of zymol a few years ago and to be honest, I forgot. I'll get you guys that info. How HD works is actually pretty cool. Unlike many polishes that use an abrasive to polish the paint, HD uses Montan Oil, a natural solvent from the Evergreen Tree. The nice thing about Montan Oil is that it does not penetrate clean paint. It basically melts the impurities in the paint. You notice an immediate difference in color, touch, and depth.
