Sheepskin wash mitt care? (moe?)

hey moe,

i broke the sheepskin mitt. yes, broke is the right word i am using

i left it to airdry by hanging it on the jack and yesterday, when i went to use it, the inside of it was hard as rock. so when i soaked it in water i thought it would soften up, but when i squeezed it, it cracked.

what is the proper sheepskin wash mitt care? should not let it air dry? why did it get so stiff?

thanks..

I wash mine with my micro towels. No problems here.

My dog ate mine. Guess that Zymol wash is tasty and delicious. Left it where he could get at it. Moe thought it was !

I rinse mine and hang it to air dry.

I wouldn't believe until you told me Dan. One of the funniest things I've heard in a long time. Your dog has great taste though

This is a first in ten years I've never had mine do that. I'll ship you out another For the future, rinse after use with the hose. Then fold the mitt inside out into a ball. This way, if it hit the ground, the inside of the mitt gets dirty, not the sheepskin. Also, this keeps the mitt moist and supple for the next time you want to use it since some of the water is retained in the mitt.

sorry for the offtopic...

i have been using wash mitt for years only until recently i saw in zymol europe website it says that we should not use wash mitt or sea sponge to wash our cars as mitt and sea sponge will trap dirt...

they advise us to use cleaning sponge instead.... how true is that? i had always thought otherwise

I've never been a fan of the sponge because I figured the cells will trap and hold dirt particles. I've used the zymol sponge at zymol events we participate in, works fine, but I've been using the natural sheepskin wash mitt for over a decade now without any problems. So I've stuck with it. My 2 cents.
