Why New Cars SHould Get Detailed First thing???
My good freind whos on this forum told me a while ago that new cars should get detailed asap because of the transportation cycle it goes through (lets say from germany to US). He said that theres rail dust that does something.
Bottom line is, My mom just got a 08 s550 sport 4matic tonight and i shined my xenons at it, and it just looks all swirled up. Cant persuade my father to get a detail, nor explain to him why it should get detailed. I dont have enough knowledge to back up my argument.
Someone help, thanks.

No doubt about it. The local Mercedes dealership sublets all their new car details to us because they don't want the hassle of delivering a car that isn't perfect. There can be a lot found on a new car that's for sure.

There is a big difference between a new car and a perfect car; this is especially evident on black cars. Like we tell our clients, "You don't know what good is till you see better".
Here is a picture of a brand new Cayenne Turbo. Once we stripped the away the wax and greasy glaze which was hiding the swirls, this is what we saw. Fifteen hours later, it was finally corrected. BTW, when the owner called the dealership, they said to bring the truck back and they would "fix it". His reply was, "How the heck are you going to fix it when you are the ones who buffed it to this condition in the first place"? End of conversation

That's one of the worst I've ever seen Matt. I can only picture the guy who buffed it...what a shame. Glad to hear it was in good hands though

man, that's bordering on vandalism done by the dealer.

I wish I read the 'Detailing' forum before buying our Cayenne. I still remember the phone conversation with the dealer and they told me 'You can make the deposit now on the phone and we'll 'PREP THE CAR RIGHT AWAY' so it'll be 'READY' for you to pick up!!!'

When I arrived to the dealership the next day, it was sitting in the showroom with swirl marks and haze....

Now I look back and that 'PREP YOUR CAR' conversation was really stupid (on my part)...should've NEVER let them touch it.
