Ice Products?
Ice Products?
Are these products decent? I picked some up and I am planning on using them tomorrow. I purchased the clay and polish. I understand these aren't the greatest because I purchased them at Target but are they good to practice the basic skills on my car that is not too great?
Thanks

It won't hurt, just waste time. You'll be putting in relatively the same time and effort whether using an OTC product or a pro-sumer type like zaino, einszett, Autoglym, Zymol, etc. If you have to get by, return the ice products and buy some Mother's Clay and some Zymol Cleaner Wax. Simple and effective results. You'll get the hang of things and then you can begin your detailing hourney and graduate to better products for specific applications.
I have Zymol Cleaner Wax. I was planning on washing, using ice clay, then ice polish, and finishing with the Zymol Cleaner Wax.
Good plan?
I'm just testing this stuff to see if I want to get some of the pro-sumer products and how often I would use them.
Thanks

If I remember correctly, ice clay is a liquid. Doesn't work all that great from what I've read. Just get an actual clay bar. No need to polish with ice, since zymol cleaner wax is a polish and wax in one. Use a cotton or microfiber applicator to apply cleaner wax, then wipe off with microfiber towel. Try and not get the cleaner wax on any plastic or rubber molding. It tends to stain it, but it can be cleaned with a rubber cleaner if you do get some on the trim. You should see noticeable difference just by using the clay and zymol.

OK thanks for the input. I already purchased the stuff from Target since I did not want to wait for it to get here. I'm going to go ahead and try it and if I use it a lot I will go ahead and buy some really nice stuff. Right now I only have a 3.5SL Nissan Altima so this is more of a test car until I move onto better German made cars.
