Best on black ??

On a black car, what wax, carnuba or synthetic works best ?
and what brand of these choices is best. And do they last ??
And last, what car soap is recommended that will not strip the applied finish.

I would recommend wax with a high quality carnauba wax like Zymol Concours. On a black car, I don't recommend a synthetic wax, as you will probably want to rewax the car to get the shine back before it wears away. Moe at Glistening Perfection is a sponsor on this website, I recommend you get ahold of him, to line you up with the proper tools and waxes. I have a black Porsche the gets waxed "almost" every time I wash it, and it's still impossible to keep looking perfect. Good luck!!!

I would have to second that on the carnauba, but I would have to say go with Swissvax : )

The most important aspect to a perfect finish is not the LSP, but the polishing process. It doesn't make much sense to spend hundreds on a LSP unless your imperfections are corrected first.

Swissvax is nice along with Souveran paste. Durability will be about a month or two, max.

Here's a link to a recent discussion on this subject:

As long as the prep work is done right, there's no such thing as a BEST wax. It's pretty much your call. However, don't waste time on the products you find at local auto parts stores or walmart. Stick with prosumer brands like P21S, einszett, Autoglym, Zaino, Pinnacle, etc. or high-end stuff from Zymol. You're going to notice a huge difference in quality over the cheaper stuff found at the hardware store or auto part store. Hope this helps.

PREP is what is best...you can have the 2435323432 dollar wax and it will look terrible on a poorly maintained car.

for the last POLISHING step, I highly recommend menzerna FPII, then wax with whatever

Hi Ed. Nice to see you here. You should post up some detailing pics of your Turbo S. I think the board would love to see how DIYers do things.

Hi Moe, I just might do that. I'm still trying to familiarize myself with the board and it's rules & options.

I think you're safe posting anything since you're probably not going to quit your day job and become a detailer full time.
