My car has been service on hands and knees since day one. Thank you Sultan.
I'm trying to help him out Vince. You as all CS owners know. It's almost impossible to sell one when you have one. So you just go back to flossing teeth and let me get back to sleep at my desk

Not allow to give your opinion until you own either a CS or 997TT. So go call up J. and rape him with your offer.

You gonna have to clone more of yourself to drive all the cars you have. BTW I am going to look at the new Camaro in Federal Way at lunch today.

If I purchased a cs I would probably put about 10k on it per year...and I would probably keep it for a while...is that a bad decision. I mean, if I have it for like 4 years it will be 2012 and it might have like 45k on it...is that crazy? and will it last that long, being an 04?
Thanks
David

Good question. I don't know. I've never seen a newer Ferrari with more than like 30k miles on it. That's the very sad truth. I've typically sold mine with 7-10k miles

Dam that's 40K plus miles. Well at least you be the first if not the few who will own a CS with 40K+ miles. Maybe buy a Mini to supplements some of that mileage and drive your CS on the weekend and you'll be golden.

Mark you 're pathological hoarder. I can 't remember the last time you sell a car. It's easy to buy a car but it takes a real man to sell.

119, the 360 and variant cs are very durable cars. I have seen 360's with over 80k on them so I doubt you need worry IF you do your service and fluids as needed.
CS is the kind of car that is, imo, best owned if you have other "easy" daily driver cars. They are totally special cars and as has been pointed out, not as fast as a tt in a straight line but way more fun. They are very engaging and make one of the best sounds ever tuned from 8 cyls!
But if you are looking for a fun car that can double as a daily but still provide top quality driving fun, I would go for a 997 gt3. Great all around car, fun, fast and relatively practical. Unless you are willing to spend a good chunk to bring some soul to the tt, I would go with a much discounted already modded 996tt. Set up correctly, an epic ride for cheap.

ps, my cs had 22k on the clock when I sold it and it was going very strong. I miss the car enough that I am now shopping again.

I hate to revive this old thread but i was wondering what everyone thought about going from a 997 GT3RS to a CS. The price delta mentioned herein has significantly narrowed to the tune of 20-30k and the CS remains as beautiful as ever. As to how the car will be used, it will be used primarily on weekends to "blow of steam." I have a Maserati GTS which i use as my "daily." Was considering the 430 as well but fear it may be too "soft." Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

rahul did you get my response from your fchat email? I was out of town and didnt know if it went through? the 430 is far from a soft car. in fact with the faster shift points and quicker speed response you will be very happy. the CS will be more raw, loud and less of a daily than a GT3 by far.

Sorry and I spent a good 10 minutes typing you an email while the wife shopped.

Long story short you wanted to know the difference between a 430 and a CS I believe.

CS is a raw machine that is very much a lot of fun to drive. It's LOUD. It's not as comfortable as the 430. This is not to say the 430 is a cushy mobile made for GT driving only. You will have to clarify exactly your use. You mentioned you have a Mas GTS. I had mentioned to you that the 430 would be closer to the Mas than the CS would be. I would almost guarantee that you will Park the Mas GTS for good if you own a 430. It's Faster and almost as Lush.

If the wife / girlfriend or both of them like to travel a lot with you they will be MUCH happier riding along in the 430 over the CS. My wife can't even drive the CS or my Scud without a special pad I made for her because she's only 5'1. If the women come along with you I will also say they most likely will ask you to drive the Mas over a CS. They will prefer a 430 over the Mas 7 days a week.

I will also say this with EVERY CS owner always disagreeing with me. The 430 is not only a better car. It's faster in EVERY aspect. Shifting. Cornering, Speed and Quickness. It will bury the CS on a drive. I could drive my 430 25% faster than my CS was ever capable of. The CS is a fabulous car don't get me wrong. The 430 is just a better car. For a weekend warrior or a daily driver. Some think the CS is a better looking car but I've always felt the 430's are meaner and sportier looking.
this is obviously my Opinion on looks but the driving aspect only the people in denial would disagree.....

So would I buy a CS or a 430 if I were to only choose one? the 430 everyday of the week. Priced the same it's not even a 2nd thought for me.

my 4 cents Rahul good luck and you will LOVE either of them.

The 360 CS is one of my all time favorite cars. I don't think I would turn down the opportunity to purchase one if I had the chance

Is this because the 430s are more forgiving to drive where as the CS needs more skills to reach its capabilities? I've been looking at the CS, not because of its capabilities, but more for its uniqueness and race oriented design compared with the 430. You are right that 430s probably made some improvements over the 360 platform, so it's a real debate for me. Personally I prefer the design of the CS than a 430.

Simply stated No. I've spent a lot of time in 360's and 430's. The actual platforms are the same. The moderate changes and huge horsepower gains make the car much better for high speed driving. The 360's are softer. I love both cars so I'm not dissing a 360. Anyone who tells you a 360 CS is better than a 430 Coupe needs their head examined. They are caught up in the stigma of the cars. You are buying it for "unique" more than a race oriented design imho. I will say that the 80hp gain over the 360 will tend to get inexperienced drivers in trouble more and this will make the 360 CS less of a handful at times. The 360CS is better at high speeds than a 360 Coupe. This I would say, but not tons like the Scud over the 430 coupe. I've not spent a lot of time in 360 Coupes, just Spiders. It's shifting is smoother and possibly a little quicker than a standard and the car seems to be more agile to me.

Buy a CS for it's Unique ownership quality. They are beautiful and fun. Buy a 430 for it's PURE Bang for your buck. I think they are beautiful and for the same money you get 25% more care.....my opinion I know.
