Ferrari 360 and 430 F1 better or stick?
Ferrari 360 and 430 F1 better or stick? Which one holds the value better? What do you guys prefer? Which one has higher maintenance cost?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I have not driven either but I would get a stick just because I can live without having a clutch pedal. Plus the metal gate must be such a great experience. I hope to one day own a Yellow F430 Manual transmission.

I do not own either of these cars but based on what I have read....The 6sp man. cars are certainly rarer as something like 80% of 360's have the F1 tranny and I can ony imagine a similar or greater % for the 430. I have only seen one 430 with a man. for sale. There are more 360's with the gate and it seems though that the mileage affects the price more than the tranny choice.

Plus the F1 is more to maintain/fix.

F1 transmissions are made for the handicapped or all the lazy, fat asses that aren't talented enough to drive a true manual car. Flame suit on. ..and yes I know technically the F1 trans is a manual and not automatic, but it might as well be. Just my humble opinion.

Newer F-cars and the current BMW M5 are the only cars I would opt for a paddle shift. That's what they were designed for. Otherwise, give my left foot something to do.

I have driven several F1s, I personally prefer 6spd manual. It is so much more fun to drive and far more easier to launch off the line like bat out of hell without even trying. F1 is tricky, you either bog or waste time spinning tires (they are great at the track, once you are already at rolling speed).
The 6spd is also far more rarer.

360 vs. 430
I think the better question is whether to buy a 360 or 430, and then decide on a 6-speed or F1. I say this because I've now owned 6 Ferraris and found the 360 very lacking in performance and only kept the car about 3 months. I had hoped the 430 (which I now own) would be much improved in performance (and I like the exterior changes too) and it is....really a night and day difference and I'm thrilled with it. The 430 is also a 6-speed...just what I prefer, but certainly no one car argue how slick the F1 is, but likely something down the road that will be more expensive to maintain. Seriously - if you can afford either the 360 or 430, I think the 430 is the only one to consider.

I believe you're going to find the % of 430's with the manual trans significantly lower than the 360. If you want something that's not mainstream, a 430 with a manual will be it.
Personally I'm aiming for an F355 Berlinetta 6 speed. I think a previous era car and no paddles would have real spirit.

F1 paddles are much easier to drive. Thats about it. Most Ferrari's have them. I don't have a problem.
6 Speed will hold its value better and there aren't many of them. I'd get a 6 Speed for something like a 430 or 360. They will cost much more than F1 in the future. Collectors will want that rare option.
