its a record for a "race car based on a production car".........is there a list of other cars that held that record somewhere?

He really should have gone out on Pirelli Corsa's or any other high performance road legal tire. It's getting too much criticism for being on track tires. Considering how composed he looked, I think that driver was good for another 5 sec or so with the same set up. Not saying it looked that easy, just considering how radical test drivers can drive, and he looked pretty composed most the time.
I say he could break 7 min with a well chosen street legal tire.

This isn't a street car, no matter how you slice it even if it was on snow tires its not road legal. The Radical SR8 which ran 10 seconds faster was legally driven to the ring on street tires however, and is road legal.
