Yeah, back in the day when starting salary for a new engineering graduate right out of college was about $6500. Still, given they are around, what, $55-$60K today, that means Ferraris cost about half then what they do now.
well, you figure an average car in the early 60's cost about 3k new, which is about say 20k today. So if it cost 13k, then todays value new would be about 85k, which would be a bargain. Obviously they were much better deals than today.

No the car is either a 1963 or 1964 250 GT Lusso Berlinetta. Not sure which year, but if I had to guess it would be a 63. It was mint condition and had historical plates on it. I gave the guy a thumbs up and he did a few high rev passes before we split.
