Scud F1 problem
Scud F1 problem
Today I was at the track and after 5 laps I heart a beep and the red gear box alarm dash logo turned on and I couldnt make more gear box changes I went to the pit and a F tech scanned the scud and found an error code 0715 we eliminate the error code and test and the red gearbox alarm turned on again.
I was using the car in the SPORT mode, somebody told me the maybe because i was running in SPORT mode the computer protects the transmission.
Anyone has experience with this ?

A yellow warning light means the EDiff has overheated and shoudl go away once it is cooled. A red light is a fault. Ran into this back a couple of months ago with my 05 F430 at the track in Portland. After some trouble shooting and consultation with the factory engineers, my dealer replaced the EDiff Magnetic Solenoid valve and this solved the problem and the EDiff red light no longer comes back. The part costs about $950 Canadian plus labour.
The 08 models and especially the Scud should already have the heat shields installed around this solenoid which was missing in the 05 and early 06 models but check with your dealer to make sure these heat shields are in place. My dealer ordered and installed these heat shields for me when they changed the solenoid. The shields were relatively cheap, $30 or so.
I was told by my dealer that this solenoid is a replacement part meaning they are one of those parts that do fail at some point and will need replacement. My car had 17,000 Km on it and I'm sure the heat created from driving the car hard on the track helps shorten the life of the solenoid especially on mine with the extra protection of the heat shields. I also think the Sport Mode asks the EDiff to work that much harder when you are on the track going full out. Put it in Race Mode, it's more fun in Race Mode anyways. Hope this helped and good luck.

Sorry, that's a totally different problem than mine. Have you taken it to the dealer ? They can get a lot of info from the ECU ie. clutch wear, fault sequence etc. etc. My dealer here utilizes the factory engineers quite a bit and sends them the ECU data for trouble shooting guidance. May be a good idea to drain the clutch and gearbox fluid and see if there are any shreds of metal in there, at least rule out the most expensive and worst problems. That was one of the first thing factory asked the dealer to do. I believe there are 2 solenoids for the F1. Could simply be a solenoid needs to be replaced. Please let us know what you find out. Thanks,
