High Mile F430

Hey guys. Looking for opinions on high mile Ferraris. I came across a ridiculous deal but it's got super high miles. The car was used as a high end rental within Gotham Dream cars.

The seller just completed a $15,000 service (not sure what was done) and says the car has a clean bill of health. $90k. Should I consider it or stay far away? Any ideas how these high end rental places treat the car?

Personally I would not buy it. It's not so much how the rental place treats the car but the people renting it. I don't think you could find a car more raped and pillaged than the one you're looking at and re-selling it down the road with rental company on the carfax and super high miles will be next to impossible.

IF repairs are needed then the "discount" will disappear and then some. If you could get an extensive PPI from a dealer that would go a long way. If it checks out you would be getting a lot more car for your money but there's risk that comes with that.

what is high miles ? they usually sell their cars when they hit 60k. I would buy it all day long at 60k. but a rental ...hummm

as I understand it they do take very good care of their cars. I would get an intensive PPI.

For $90k thats not a ridiculous deal, its actually a little high and they usually list their cars high. For about 110-120 you could get one with have the miles and non rental.

the issue here is, it being a former rental car

PS mi car has nearly 60k

I would find out what that $15k in service entailed, and what is the mileage on the car?

Thanks guys!

There wasn't too much info available on the car or any high res pics and the seller didn't seem to eager to make the sale.... seemed like they were trying to get rid of this and whole bunch of other cars. so I passed.

Assuming that the car was well driven...how would those miles affect the performance and health of the vehicle. If routine service is completed on a timely basis, how much 'life' would the car have left? At what point does engine or tranny replacement or overhaul become nescessary?

How's the market right now on F430s? I want something clean and trouble free but some of these sellers (cars.com, ebay, autotrader) list generic info about the car and don't seem to know the full history... I also don't get a good feeling from getting a Ferrari from a place called 'Lucky's auto sales,' but working with a Ferrari dealership really seems to carry a premium.

I'm trying to spend less than $120k (cash deal) on a F430 F1 spider with up-to-date service, full history, red/tan. Is this reasonable?

Thoughts on this listing?: http://bit.ly/dJfy9N

I woud have passed as well. With those mile and the fact that it was most likely beat on everytime it was driven you can expect some problems down the road.

120 is about where an 05 coupe with 10k miles can be had for if you are not too picky about color and options. A lot of these cars have outrageous asking prices, but I doubt you will get a spyder for 120.

06 F430 Spyder in red with under 30k miles just went through the auction last weekn in orlando and was snatched up at $110k. Just to give you an idea what auction prices are like right now. Oh and the car was clean.

Definitely as more 458's come out, 430 prices will go lower.
