360 Modena CATLESS

Can a catless run damage or reduce the performance of the engine?

It's actually a two-fold issue. The above poster is partly correct, cats, while they are an emission "tool" are also accounted for in the setting up of the air/fuel/spark maps on any given car, and as such produce a certain amount of back-pressure. It's this pressure that allows for certain torque levels at various rpm and if one removes the cats it can have an adverse effect on low-end torque but will give extended performance on the upper rpm range, so it depends on where and how you do most of your driving as to whether or not you'll want to use test pipes vs. highflow cats.

All of that said I ran test pipes with Tubi NGT on my former 99 Euro 360 and it was a divine sound. I now have a CS running the NGT but still have the cats on the car and it is about half volume vs. my former car.

I am thinking of buying a 360 and modify the exhaust. I really like the F1 sound that car makes. I also love the flames
