We've known for a while that Ferrari was planning an even more insane track only version of their already insane LaFerrari. The LaFerrari XX, keeping the same naming scheme as the last few track only Ferrari's was finally spotted and videotaped doing some hot laps around Ferrari's test track Fiorano and things didn't go so well. Take a look:

 

A hybrid that makes 951 flywheel. That is on pump gas. 790 hp from the V12, 161 from the electric motor, amazing.

Here is something that will put things in perspective.

In the Road and track analysis, it put 5 lengths on the Porsche 918 hybrid in the 0-186.

The Porsche, making 887 flywheel ran 10 flat in the quarter mile, and trapped at 143.7.

 

Rear suspension failure. It happens. The car's in development. They'll fix it. That's why they do development. No biggie.

The LaFerrari was, however, rushed into production. From someone who carefully considered his purchase of one of the three current hyper-cars (McLaren P1, Porsche 918 and LaFerrari), the LaFerrari had the poorest build quality and seemed the most cobbled together.

As a long-time, multiple Ferrari owner, I've seen my fair share of factory "craftsmanship" to know that build quality isn't the highest priority at SpA. They've improved their production quality considerably over the years, but LaFerrari is a separate (by hand) line.

Sounds the biz, though. Looks pretty nice from a distance, too. After turning down XX invitations in the past, our relationship with the factory has to be rekindled. It won't be this, though.
