research on ferrarichat.com F1 tranny, variator and CEL on earlier model due to lack of driving cycle which prevents passing smog checks are often the problem areas. also, the 3 yr belt change is pretty costly compared to Porsche that uses chains. it's a great car that is pretty much trouble free and doesn't have weak spots.

I was mainly debating whether to get the 360 modena or a 2002 996 TT

Depends what you're looking for. Daily driver or weekend fun car. Ferrari will always cost more to maintain than 996tt.

If you can afford the Ferrari (both to buy and maintain) go for that over the 996tt. The two cars aren't really in the same price range however. '02 996TT $75-$80K....Early model 360 $120-$130K...they're holding their value very well lately.

Definately i agree with your Raz.. So as far as maintenance, thats what im really concerned about. How much do brake changes, oil changes, and other basic maintenance usually cost around?

Not too sure about basic maintenance, but I do know a windshield costs $3,500 and replacing a clutch is $6,000. Thats just to give you an idea of what to expect when things need fixing.

But, stock for stock, the $70k 996TT will walk on the $130k 360 easily. With some mods it would not even be funny. With that said, the 360 is a beautiful car and I would love to own one. I was close to pulling the trigger on one but decided to go with my GT3 for daily driveability and the fact that it still had some warranty left on it.

Luis lol its funny you say that because im pretty much in the same situation.. I want the 360 its a beautiful car, but also i look at the porsche and as far as practicality for me at this point the p car would be the more logical choice let alone it would walk the 360 hands down. But well see... lol im still debating . hehhe
