Necessary to have exotic car insurance?

Hi,
I have heard somewhere that in certain states it is not required by law to insure exotic cars. I wanted to know from exotic car owners if this is true?

Thanks

In some states if you can prove that you can post a 25K bond you do not have to have insurance, but its a monster of a stupid idea.

On the hook, means that the police will be dragging your car away for lack of insurance, plus anymore at least in california they will not give you plates/tags/registration unless you can prove insurance coverage.

New Hampshire does not require auto insurance for any car, however, most states do require liability coverage so driving out of NH would be risky.

You gotta be kidding me that some states don't require auto liability insurance? which ones? Granted, I realize most people (at least here in Tejas) don't carry insurance but to not even require it by law??

I've always "over" insured, even before I had exotics. Small price to pay for the peace of mind IMO.

Even if you didn't have to insure your exotic car, why would you not? I'd hate to get my porsche or ferrari hit by some drunk punk with no insurance and have nothing to cover my car.

Sure, Let me break it down for you. In plain English. If you drive any car on the streets of California U.S.A. and you do not have insurance and are pulled over by the Law Enforcement then they will impound your vehicle for at least 30 days. I hope that helps you understand in plain "lingo", as you so eloquently put it..

Insurance is cheaper than maintenance on an exotic. If you can't afford the insurance, then you can't afford the maintenance.

Some people can't get insurance because of their record or whatnot. I'm not sure if I'm happy about it, but it gives the super rich the opportunity around that obsticle.
