456 M GT Priced too low?
456 M GT Priced too low?
I am not too familiar with the market on this car, but isn't $120k US a low price for this car? Orginally $230K in 2001 and now half off? I am interested in buying a coupe like this, but not if the value of the new car prices drop so much.

the car drops like A ROCK.....i had a 1999 and paid 120k for it back in 2003....drove the car 5k miles and traded it in for 70k in 05
......trust me i tried to sell it on my own with zero luck.....if i could buy one again i would because it was a fantastic car and i loved it

Man..That is hard on the ears to hear. Such a beautiful car. Maybe I should offer the guy $75k.
Any comments on why it is possibly unpopular? I have never driven one before, but I would think it is a comfortable performance car for local and pleasure driving, not racing or showing off.

I think it was unpopular because it was not a "showy" ferrari...it does not get much attention. It was extremly comfortable and you could take a trip in it easily. I think i got rid of mine because it was automatic and not much fun for me. If it was a 6 speed it would be a whole different story.

I am sure the $75 is too low, but the asking price is a bit off then with all the other cars you can pick up at that price. This one is a 6speed with all the right options, but with the broker in this deal I don't think the price is going to get much better. Off to lunch now that the markets are closed.

+1 for 550.
no, price isn't too low... it's too high as others have posted. i've only driven one for a handful of miles but they're very comfortable cruisers. resale sux bc folks just didn't like the car and the maintenance on the12 is $$$. i personally like the car but obviously my opinion is the minority.
if you're looking for a 12 in that price range, i agree to look at a 550 if you're worried about resale.

The 456 is the red haired stepchild....car should be 75-90k, I think its great value for the money...
When the 575M gets down to 100-110k (probably a couple of years from now), I'll be all over it. Great value for the money at that point and a great great car.

yah, there are couple on SF Bay area craigs list for 75-80k right now.

seems pretty darn cheap (lot of depreciationi!) considering how much they were new... you roll in a 456 everybody thinks it's a 200k car (or as i like to them them, a house on wheels lol). i think 456 is not appreciated because it is a little soft on the edges, and with certain color it looks kind of boring. but if you drop it and put some nice rims on it it looks pretty dope still. and a Ferrari 12 will always be a Ferrari 12. how reliable is the 456 though?! i was reading about it on carsurvey.com i think, seems like only minior teething problems. mechanicallly it seems pretty reliable. nothing like the horror stories on 355's...
