Goodwood is infamous around these parts
I was there on Sun Feb 27th, and witnessed a pretty nasty crash in turn 10, in a car that looked a lot like yours. Feel bad for the guy. Was a lotta damage. Think everybody's ok, thank goodness. Hope it wasn't you. You know anything about it? I was just behind on the back straight, about to enter turn 10, and encountered it right after it happened. Kinda put the fear of God in me!

Turn 10 can be very intimidating - you have to keep foot on the gas through that turn. I had a car spin out in front of me coming down to in-field and there are very few "outs" once you turn the wheel in. I quickly learned my lesson to keep distance through that turn.

My instructor in the Intermediate group told me he must've not hit the turn entrance just right, got a bit squirrelly, and went off into the grass, but attempted to re-enter the track before he had his car slowed enough and under control. The one time I looked down to see my speed, I entered that turn at 90. Never took it quite that fast again. Scared the crap outta me!

Agreed, gotta hold on to'em thru 10. I saw at least 2 cars go off there on Saturday.

I run street tires... so I check my speed to no more than 80mph before turn-in. Like you, one time I took turn 10 at 90 and I felt the car getting light mid-turn... It was not a pleasant feeling.

As for going off... either that driver did as your instructor said, or possibly turned in early. Which happens often as well. There is not a lot of tarmac for early apex. Here is a video of a Mini that touched the tire wall at 10:

My philosophy is... as much as I like to drive on the track... I like to drive my car home at the end of the day more.
