Will My Idea for a Stealth Lift Work?

I would love to have a lift in my garage but do not want a two post or four post lift taking up lots of space. I would mainly be used for working on my S4.

I woudl like to use a mide rise lift but I run into the problem that I have this aweful habit of making car very low. There is ZERO chance my car would clear the lift for normal parking.

My plan is a follows. I want to get a mid rise lift like and set it flush with the concrete floor. Here is my plan and please tell me if it is feasible. I want to rent a concrete saw and use it to cut the outline of a square into the concrete floor. Then using a jack hammer I would breakup and remove the concrete in the middle of the square. I would then fill hole back with concrete so that I have a nice flat, square surface recessed 4 inches into the ground to put the lift.

Are there any large issues that I am overlooking that I might run into.

I am not a licensed contractor, but I know here in CA there would be an issue if you every went to sell your house. It would open a whole can of worms with why did you do it, and is it to hide another issue and on and on. Structurly I dont think it would be much of an issue if its not near any support beams, also make sure theres no pipes or anything in or under the slab there.

crazy, read this:

You could also consider the new MaxJax lift system. It's a "portable" two post lift.

Would it be possible to use a scissor lift and use 2 x 12's as side-ramps to elevate the car so it could drive over the lift? I've seen it done. If I can find a photo, I'll post it.

You could use the MaxJax setup. Just make some ramps to get the car up high enough to get the lift under it

How much does the scissor Jack run? How much weight can it lift?

I'd like to know more about your specific lift. Are the lift points somewhat adjustable for different chassis jack points, or is that even an issue? Does it bolt to the floor at one end? Lastly, what make & model is it. This is the setup that I had in mind for my low-ceiling garage. Thanks!
