Too bad the *#&@#! floor guys tried to take shortcuts. Damn subs! Hope you can hold their feet to the fire and make them deliver what they were supposed to. If you have not paid them yet, their hearing will be a lot better this time around!

Yes, I agree on principle, but I told them that they could give us a significant discount - based on their mis-sale - or re-do the floor. They took (wisely) the discount.

I was fine either way and I do like the floor the way it is - it's just a different look/depth than they sold me.

In the end, its going to have cars/lifts all over it anyway

Thanks. Very deep in electrical (what a mess), sheetrock starts Wed. if we pass electrical. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

We're still probably 6-8 weeks out.

Not sexy - but time consuming and expensive - electrical is done (except for finish).

We covered our newly honed/MMA floor with 50 4x8 sheets of pressboard and taped them together. We were part of a big flooring bid so we had to have it done before electrical/rock/paint.

It's definitely electrical overkill, but it's relatively cheap to plan ahead at the stud stage then cutting rock later when you realized you forgot something.

Downstairs features a lot of lighting under the mezzanine (19 recessed troffer fluorscent fixtures and 18 cans) as well as 6 220v outlets for lifts, welders, compressor, etc.

Upstairs is more of the same - lot's of lights and fans plus the rough in for a ductless A/C system in case it gets hot up there in the summer.

I ran the low voltage stuff myself - mostly because I wanted to get in on the fun. 5.1 sound/projector system, 2 LCDs, and one very expensive 80' powered HDMI cable

Assuming we pass inspection, sheetrock starts tomorrow.

We're 'discussing' that right now (my wife and I).

I'm leaning toward a simple painter's white and she's leaning toward something a little more depressing, er gray. (like sheetrock)

The cabinets/lifts are going to be black, there is going to be a 3' high brushed diamond plate all the way around and of course we want the floor to pop.

I'm also going to bringing over some of my porcelain auto signs and I'd like them to have a pretty neutral background.

Thoughts from you guys are appreciated.

??

White is always a safe way to go. If i was to do gray it would have to be a darker shade. Which might not help lighting much. But it doesnt look like you would have a problem with that.
