Acid Stain, Epoxy, or Click Tiles?
i would prep the floor, or have it ground down to expose some aggregate then stain it and seal it. I am in the build of my 70 x 40 garage and just waiting on the concrete to cure and then planning on a stain and seal. Stain and seal ran me about 150 $ for 250-300 sq ft. Minus labor, i have about $1500 in it.
Wow +1.. Me likes.
Hello 6 speed,
I am new to the forums and sorry if this has been ask many times. I live in the Central Valley of California and temperature gets up to 110 degrees in the summer. I have a 3 car garage that I would like to do something with the floors. People I have talked to told me to stay away from epoxy because of the summer heat and hot tires lift the epoxy. That and it would not last long where I live. Acid stains was recommended but I don't know much about it and if it is durable for a garage. Another option was to use click tiles, but which one works the best? I do work on my car, bike, and firearms in the garage. Could I please get some input from people with experience on the options I listed? I would also like to stay around $1,500 if possible.
Thank you for your time.
Excuse spelling and grammar for I am writing this on my iPhone.

I live in Clovis- personally stay away from plastic tile. It is a ***** to keep clean, I will never do it again. Then there is the expansion of tile in the summer.... if you want to see why, come by and look. Plastic tile is garbage IMHO
I have had epoxy before and it is the only thing I would ever do again. infact my new house/garage is having epoxy going in. Do not worry about the epoxy if it professionally done. It is tough as nails and lasts a very, very long time.
You may also wish to consider polyaspartic coatings. Similar to epoxy but cure much quicker. My understanding is that the concrete slab needs to be above a certain temperature in order to be coated. This may not be a problem in the Central Valley but it is a big deal up here in the Pacific Northwest!

Another option is porcelain tile(!) Check out the Garage Journal site for more than you ever wanted to know!
