It's all about opinion... completely subjective whether they look great or like poop.

Stop wasting your time bashing on other vendors and focus on improving your own business. There is always going to be competition in business. So lets all just get along!
Sharky, bashing other vendors? What the hell are you talking about? He gave his opinion on these wheels, nothing more. Sharky is one of the most respected members of this forum.

If you want to put those wheels on your 996TT go ahead. This is a public forum where people give their opinions, deal with it. I posted pictures of my car with wheels and somebody told me they didn't like them, big deal, it's his opinion, I didn't throw a hissy fit.

Who are the many that share your views about Sharky, new guy?

volk is great quality, i had gt-7s in diamond black on my S2000, and the polished lip on them is easy to clean. TE's are great for performance, but for some reason im not so sure about the look on the 996's imo.

Other than the carbon fiber rims these are some of the lightest rims out. Unfortunately when I was in the market for rims they were not being offered in sizes to fit my TT. If they were only available three years ago.

Thanks for the offer on the group buy Vivid!!!

i have to agree w/ alot of people here and say that the TE37 just doesn't go well with the 996. don't get me wrong, i'm actually in love with this wheel, and i plan on getting a bronze set for the Supra as soon as i can afford it. had i gotten a 996, i would probably have found a way to make TE37's look good on it. for some reason the picture in the first post just doesn't seem to look as good as it could. are those 17's in the pic? if so, then he needs 18's. if they're 18's, then he needs 19's. it just doesn't seem to fill up the wheel well enough in the picture. there's also too much wheel gap. i don't think the C4S has that much wheel gap on the stock 18's, which is why i think the TE37's in the pic might be 17's.

i think TE37's could work, but they would have to fill up the wheel well better than the TE37's in the first pic. and they would have to be flush w/ the edge of the fender and lowered to a 1-finger gap, 2 fingers at the most.

My thoughts on this is you guys are missing the point:
Vivid has offered a great deal on a very high quality wheel that actually offers performance to your car by the amount of unsprung weight it reduces. The wheels would be great for track days and will help improve your Braking, handeling and acceleration all good things!!!!

If you do not like the look of the wheels sitting still try driving faster!!!!!

Us venders that are sponsors try to help the 6 speed community and threads like this go on for three pages with people discussing the look but no buyers we need the support from you the community if we are going to continue to sponsor the forum.

Not my intent to make any one mad but help the guy sell a few set's of great wheels.

And by the way he is my competitor but I want to think there is enough for all of us.

this is a public forum.. imo there is nothing wrong with people saying not liking a wheel, if a person who likes the wheel, they willbuy it regardless of what other people say. the wheelsa re a good deal .. but to others they jsut do not think the wheel looks good

I had 19" LE37's on my G35 and they looked amazing. If Rays one day produced 19" TE/LE/CE for Porsche fitments, I would definitely get a set for my car, however the 18" look I feel is track oriented and I wouldn't run it on my car for the streets.

you do realize that he's disagreeing with the comment that the TE37's look great on the 360 Modena, not the Porsche, right?

that being said, i want to rephrase the first sentence in my first post above. its not that the TE37 doesn't go well w/ the 996...its that small TE37's w/ too much wheel gap don't go well w/ the 996 (like the picture at the top of page 1). i have yet to see a 996 "slammed" on 18" or 19" TE37's, but i bet a picture of that would make alot of people change their minds...
