New GT2-pass

My local dealer just called to tell me that their incoming GT2 will sell at market(msrp+50k). As a repeat customer, I was offered msrp +$45k. I had the number one spot, but will be passing since they indicated msrp at the time of deposit 18months ago. Let me know if interested.

I'm sure they believe some clown will pay the premium. Just want to give boardmembers the heads-up.

That sucks. This may sound over-dramatic, but I'm sorry for your loss.

I do not have the finances to afford the 997 GT2 at this point in my life, but I'm sure as hell going to be working my way to a 998 GT2 if Porsche decides to build one possibly 5 or 7 years from now.

If I knew for SURE that I could put down a deposit on a 998 GT2 at MSRP, and the dealer/dealers would uphold their end of the bargain, I would be writing a check today. Every time I hear of this happening a little part of the hopefull "Car Fanatic" in me dies.

New 2

They only do it because they think they can with little repurcussion. They've lost me as return buyer because of this decision but no doubt someone with more $ than ...... will buy into the feeding frenzy and make these dealers think they've got everyone by the shorts. Disturbing.

I know of one being sold at MSRP, the soon to be owner put down a bit and has a signed agreement on MSRP. He just called me today and told me he received his GT2 book, I guess it is pretty classy, I haven't seen it yet, but leather cover?

Gt2

They would not provide me with a signed agreement at msrp at the time of deposit. I left the deposit based on their implication that I would not need one since I was a repeat buyer and would recieve preferred treatment. My bad, but what a joke. If I was not really satisfied with my current GT2 I'd probably be livid as opposed to upset. I'll be speaking with the owner of the dealership to determine my next steps.

I would make it known to the dealer/GM that you won't be returning their for any business, regardless if you pass on the car or not.

Ahhhhh, the money they will make on ONE GT 2 sale ($60k+?) at that price will more than offset repeat business from almost any client......at least that's what they are counting on.....I would talk to my lawyer...talking to the dealership probably won't get you far.....good luck

Chris

Same thing happened to me at North Olmsted Porsche a few months back. I will never step foot back into that dealership. My only advice is to let everyone know what dealer and hope it costs them business down the road.
