997 GT3RS w/ slicks at Nürburgrung Nordschleife

Hi,

recently I put a set of slicks on my GT3RS and checked it out on the Nürburgring Nordschleife (incl. GP-Track). What a blast!
As always after you discover new joys, you ask yourself why you haven't done it before, as it isn't such a big deal to do after all.
As my cambersettings were 3,5 front and 2,5 back anyway, the car felt great with those tires.
Even though I had a cup ring&pinion installed and therefore a reduced topspeed, the Viper ringtaxi finally had to give up on the Döttinger straight.

Very cool. Looks like after you got up to temp, you were able to repass that M3. Thought he walked away, but you were able to bring him back. The pass on the Viper was stomach wrenching. You were flat out.

997 Gt-3rs

Must compliment you on your smoothe application of power throught the turns, were you trail baking also? It appears from the sound that you only approached red line briefly and that most of the time you were well below it. Anyway I did appreciate the film. I have tracked my previous 996 GT-3 here in the US at Watkins Glen, Summit Point, Pocano and Lime Rock. I now have a 997 GT-3 which I have not as yet traked it. Seams that you had quite a bit of experience as you seem to know the track quite well.

Very nice driving, what is your tire of choice? And does the car have any other mods besides the tires and gears?

Yup. I have got a Bilstein suspension, but it is configurated for smooth tracks and therefore is way too hard for the Nordschleife which is superbumpy.

@Vincent: 285kmh which is topspeed for the car with the shortgearing.

Thank you for sharing that video, and very good driving. Im curious, what car screamed by you at 2:47 into the video. That care was very fast to pull away like that. And correct me if Im wrong, but you never caught up to that car again, as the car you pass at 6:40 into it is another porsche, not the car that went flying by you at 2:47.
Thanks again for an excellent video.
