CGT- dead battery

I left the key in the gt and of course the battery is dead.
I tried the emergency lid opening procedure in the manual using both a battery charger and then also a portable battery starter and both failed to open the lid. I pulled down that little red + terminal connector under the drivers side dash and connected the positive cable to that and the neg cable to the exact position on the door jamb as indicated in the book.

Could it be the battery is that dead and will not open the lid at all?
Is there another way to charge the battery?

THANKS!!

upsss...
do you have the original Porsche battery charger?
If you connect it to your car lighter and wait a few hours...maybe it can help you.
or call your dealer.....they will help you!

Good luck!

Put the transmission in first or second gear.

Release the hand brake and the foot brake.

Note that the people pushing need to get the car rolling as fast as they can. This works best down a hill or an incline.

Release the clutch pedal while giving the engine a little gas with the gas pedal once the car is moving about as fast as you can run. The engine should start.

Not possible in a CGT because of the ceramic clutch.

Getting a battery dead in a CGT is one of the bad things you can have with it, because if it won't recharge the dealer has to change it. And to do that he has to nearly undo the complete rear bodywork...

My dealer told me it costs 800 dollars to change a battery in the CGT. Apparently a bunch of work is involved.

If you have an old square style battery Charger (or access to one delivered with the car) and leave it hooked for a couple of days it will recharge the battery. I made the same mistake, but I did have to go to the Dealer to get some codes reset.

Of note, the new style (elongated) charger will not do the job (the connector didn't seem to fit the CGT).

OK guys thanks,
Thankfully it took a charge from my battery charger.
So all is well here on this sunny cold day.

I was trying to figure out If I could change the battery if it wouldn't charge but now I see it's an operation for the dealer. Not going to be leaving that key in the car anytime soon

the rear main carbon under tray needs to be removed to get to the battery. pretty much like doing an oil change for it so about the same amount.

Don't drive it on a weak battery!

charge it, check the voltage, then drive it.
