997 GT2 runs a 7:33 @ the ring with Horst
http://www.evo.co.uk/news/evonews/21...ring_time.html
"Porsche’s new 911 GT2 has lapped the Nurburgring Nordschleife in an astonishing 7min 33sec in the hands of Horst von Saurma, chief road tester at Germany’s Sport Auto magazine. The time is just one second slower than von Saurma recorded for the Carrera GT.
Porsche, on the other hand, claims that the GT2 is five seconds a lap faster than the CGT (see evo 111), preferring Walter Röhrl’s slightly faster 7min 32sec time in the flagship 911 and a correspondingly slower time for the Carrera GT. Confusing stuff, but whichever set of figures you choose to look at, the GT2 is still bloody quick."

The Scud is quicker around Fiorano than the Enzo...and
remember the GT was made available for sale in 2003/2004, designed in 2001 and2002 with knowledge and technology from 1999 and 2000.

Absolutely. They should give me their CGTs and go buy new GT-2s for themselves so they don't feel so bad. I'll do all the suffering for them.

Thank's for the information, highly appreciate it with the constant updates on the track.
Now lets wait for the ZR1's tracktime.

We didnt pay our money for seeing how fast Rohl can get around ring in our car...

That sucks, Rohrl has to test with all those cars and Nissan runs around touting ring times with nothing but clear skies in front of them. Porsche better step it up. I'm sick of the fanboys.
Could you imagine how much faster he would have went? Even on a track that long, chances are he didnt pass them all on the straights.

I agree, I dont care what Porsche says the GT2 isnt 5 seconds faster than a CGT on any track. Rohrl ran 7:28 anyways, so 5 seconds would put the GT2 at 7:23 , I think he could shave some time with that open track, but not 9 seconds unless he really got pinned down in some turns.
