Farnbacher-Loles

Ok, so since getting back from La Carrera Panamericana with the GT3, I've been looking for some "fun" upgrades to do to the car. I'm looking for some good horsepower upgrades that were reliable and measurable.

I've always heard great things about Farnbacher-Loles, but always thought of them as too "aloof" to do anything cool to street cars. Boy, was I wrong. Through a friend-of-a-friend, I got connected with them and had a few good conversations about GT3 performance upgrades. I met Roger from the shop and really liked what the guy had to say and the work that they were doing... so we sent a crew up to shoot their shop to shoot some video:

As soon as I get the GT3 back together, It'll be heading up there for some go-fast parts.

Anyway, I'd love to know what you guys think of this piece... and if there are any other shops we should get profiled on the show.

The pipes on that GT3RS shown look pretty crazy but one thing comes to mind immediately. It does not seem to offer weight savings as other aftermarket systems out there. That's a lot of pipes. Headers on brief appearance look good. There are cats, mufflers and resonator pipes. I wonder what is the weight?
My GT3 without a specific ECU tune is making that kind of power w/ the FVD headers (384 rwhp).
What is the cost of such a complete exhaust system and ECU?

Interesting stuff, would love to know the specifics.

Hey Jon, I gave up watching the whole video because is was constantly breaking up. Where did you find out additional information as you mentioned the claimed 21 lbs. weight savings?
Also do you know cost?

The info was posted on rennlist this week. Check out the 997 GT3/RS forum section and there is a thread about F-L.

Thanks for the link. Those exhaust tips are hot. Revving the indoors does not impress me. Show it outside and running around.

Agreed as well, but tracks are a bit hard to come by in Connecticut in January.

So, we did the best we could.
