6 cyclinders 4 exhausts???

6 cyclinders 4 exhausts???

does anyone else wonder why a 997 S would have 4 pipes? that's 1.5 cylinders per pipe.... form does not follow function

Maybe they're following GM's engineering lead. The 140 hp '65 Corvair, rear-engined, had 4 carbs and 6 cylinders. Maybe it's the same principle in reverse?

Watt, I tend to think its just two tips per muffler, cosmetic appearance, any other thoughts?

pissed? not really -- unimpressed with cosmetics tho'

doesn't it all combine into one per side in the headers before being split by the tips anyway?

that's what I thought, and isn't RUF's exhaust the same way but 2 of the pipes don't open up till full throttle or something?
