Market price for 08 GT2

Has anyone seen what the market price is for the new GT2? I know the dealerships are planning to sell over sticker but haven't heard any more than that.

I am told by a VERY reliable insider that the premium is $50,000. Of course a dealer can ask whatever he wants. But, based on the GT2 resale history, anything more than that is tantamont to using money to start a fire. Very doubtful they will get more than that.

You mean kinda like how the GT3-RS is selling under MSRP?

I predict this 997 version will hold its value much better than the 996. Unlike its awesome predecessor, this GT2 is getting a lot of marketing $$$ and amazing reviews by the press and Walter Rohrl as the best 911 ever. Not to mention, this one is also touted to be easy to drive and push to the limit, which will clearly broaden its appeal to more enthusiasts.

I hope the prices stay high and push up 996 GT2 values too.

I'm really on the fence about what to do with this car. I've got a "spot" to get one, but have the "$50k depreciation in 2 years" fear. It's encouraging that the GT3 RS seems to have held some value -- and I recognize that any car you put a license plate on is a depreciating asset -- but I'm still wary.

If you could only afford one, and could get it at MSRP, would you get a Scuderia or a GT2? Yes, I know I'm asking "Porsche or Ferrari" on a Porsche board...

Base price on a Scuderia, by the way, is $262,306.00 out the door... ($257,456.00 base price, $3,000.00 gaz guzzler, $350 dealer prep, $1,500 delivery...)

This car has to go for at least 50-60K over MSRP...I see R8's still asking 30-40K MSRP and it's not even in the same league IMO.
