I need a new helmet for track days/DE, ect. There is no where around here to try on high end helmets. I would like recommendations please. I'm thinking about Arai and Stand 21. It gets very hot and humid in the summer in oklahoma so good vent. is a must. Also, who does custom paint jobs?

Thanks
Bryan

I tried on a bunch and ultimately settled on the AraiGP-5W... has an amazing fit, great visibility w/ the wider eye opening - this model (GP-5W) was designed specifically for closed cockpit racing.

It has already seen track time - in short, I loved it. See post here where I wrote about it...

Helmet
Bell M3 or M4 - lightweight - wide face opening - very modestly priced $350.

As long as the helmet has the proper SNELL rating it is like beer. It's your personal choice and we came discuss this til the cows come home (whatever that means?).
I use to always go w/ the Simpson line. I had two super shark models.
Now I went w/ Simpson's new company called Impact.
They have a nice CF full face helmet.

There are several choices, do some research or stick w/ the Arai which you like.

Cheers,
GT3Ranger.

You absolutely need to try helmets on. unfortunately it sometimes doesn't come down to what helmet you like by looks or reputation, it comes down to what fits you correctly!! If i ordered the Arai GP-5K in the xl i though i would need with out a fitting i would have had a helmet that was too big and was potentially unsafe. This also applies to brands, an Arai might not fit properly but a Stand 21 might and so on.......

If you can, go to a motorcycle shop that sells Arai, you can get a pretty good idea as to how the GP-5W will fit by trying on one of their motorcycle helmets.

for paint try

Good Luck!!

Obviously - you need to try them on. I have a GP 5W and love it.

Saferacer.com is a good bet.

Thanks for the responses. Unfortunately no where to try helmets on around here. I'll likely buy from someone with a good return policy.

Saferacer.com has a good policy on helmet returns for fitment reasons.

You need to try on the closed face helmets to see if you like that ... I went with Bell M4
