I'd like to score a GTR for my wife and kids. The four of us would fit perfectly. Looks like a fun, safe rocketship. I'll keep the GT3 for my daily..manual shifting.. driver.

What seems impressive is how poorly the new M3 compared and especially as Harris stated that he loss the break pedal at the end of the hot lapping. That is pathetic.
The BMW M division needs to pay more attention to brakes. One and two piston calipers, come on!

I don't think you are the first, or will be last to cross to the dark side...

AGREED, although even on a stock E46 I never had an issue like that?! Weird!

Stuka is going to love hearing that

Gimme that damn GT3!

This is an interesting test, but it is clear that the GTR is not a driver's car, but a very high-performance 'video-game' that does everything for you. Ant it is by far the ugliest car on the road!!!

Not even tempted for one second! I'll take my GT3 any day of the week...

I thought so too until i saw one in real life. I personally think it looks quite good! Also the performance is sublime for the price... Now if only it sold for MSRP...

What about the fact that it was 2degrees outside? And the M3 didnt have tires that compared to those on the GT3/R.

But do agree that BMW needs to throw on some better brakes!

seriously, the porsche was running on psc that haven't been warmed up, even then the awd GTR only did it .3 seconds faster...

The Bridgestone RE070 runflats on the GT-R are also cold, and they also perform better when they've been warmed up.

Yes, the GT3 will surely get faster as its tires get up to temp, but so will the GT-R and the M3. To assume that only the GT3 will get faster as more laps are put in is being unreasonable (with just a hint of bias), IMHO, especially since most, if not all, of us have virtually no experience with the new RE070 runflats on the GT-R.
