Beware. There is a DAS bar designed to only fit non-sunroof cars. Be sure you're getting what you want.

I guess there are options on the DAS bar.

Hey guys, my DAS Sport bar will fit either a 996 or 997 with NO sunroof.

If you have a sunroof this bar will not fit your car. When you order a bar from DAS Sport you have to specify if you have a sun roof or not.

That being said, a DAS Sport bar made for a car with a sunroof will fit a car without one, but not the other way around because the non sunroof bar is taller!

I hope that clears things up.

I forgot to take a pic but I finally did today! You can see how much space there is for you to stretch out. Factory RS seats and bar. Sorry for the bad pic!

OEM or Dassport?

Congrat guys, This is an excellent thread, with lots of information!!, I'm ready now to buy a RB for my 997 GT3 that i use for track and street (I also will buy a set of 996 GT3 race seats and 6-point seatbelts), and after reading all the feedback, I'll say the scenario for me is:
  1. TC Design RollBar: Pros: good structural design, good quality. Cons: Requires Special installation (a problem for us not living in NoCal)
  2. RS OEM Bar: Pros: good structural design, OEM product, can grow to a full cage if needed later. Cons: Requires special installation (welding), can get get noisy.
  3. GMG Bar (with optional rear strut bracing): Pros: lighter material, structural design seems very good (my only concern is the strong bended tube in the main loop). Cons: busy design, I would prefer if they delete the rear seatbelts supports.
  4. Dassport Bar: Pros: cheaper, simple and clean design, easy installation and doesn't squeaks. Cons: structural design maybe not the best one, relatively heavy.
Tought decision!!, everybody has some strong points. For me is either the OEM RS bar or TC Design (both with great design and quality), Hey, can anybody recommend a good installer in South Florida? is there a way to prevent or stop the squeaky noises from the OEM bar? Weigth is always a concern but not a priority in this case, Welding?, well that is a PITA but what to do?.
Dassport Bar would be a great choice if concerns about the structural safety of the design can be removed.
Anybody has more on this? thanks,

Just from looking at the picture, can't you angle the top down so the two rear legs can go over the hump? I took my GMG bar last month and it wasn't too hard with a friend's help. Congrats on the bar though.

mike, from the angle in that pic.. cant you just get the highest point and tilt that backwards? tilt those veritcal legs 45degrees and push the tip of the rb all the way back to the glass, then tilt the veritcal legs back to up/down.

I'm no expert but and have never installed a rollcage but can't you strap the legs with one of those ratchet type straps so it gets in easier?
