Factory GT3RS rollbars

Awhile back I asked the question but I recall there was not much of a response.
My question is to all members who have the factory rollbars in a GT3RS, GT3 or even in 997 TT or Carrera S. Does the darn thing creak or squeak. The one in my GT3 drives me nuts.
Is anyone having the same problem?

Thank you,
GT3Ranger

I had the same problem for the first month when I had it, just tight down the bolts every once a month, problems will go away.

Hey Fern I have the Porsche OEM rollbars that are for the GT3RS.
The fit is extremely tight in the GT3 due to the sunroof. I do not know by name specifically what this rollbar is called.

I just need to know if others are having to put up with this?

Cheers, GT3Ranger...Juan

i know ///M Kevin has the GMG bar on his 7gt3 and it also makes rattling noises. his is attached to the seat belt holes near the floor and the back part is connected to the back seat belt holes.

but on speedolight's 7gt3, we installed the DAS RB and it does not rattle at all. only difference other then the shape is the back part of the roll bar is bolted to the top of the strut towers... rather then the back seat seat belts.

juan, is your also connected to the strut towers on the rear of the RB?

I have the factory GT3 RS roll cage and it used to creak a little bit. Nothing too annoying but it I haven't heard it creak for sometime now. Maybe the dealer tightened it during the annual service a couple of weeks back.

Fern my rollbars do bolt to the rear shocktower suspension points. The Porsche OEM rollbars and the Dazz rollbar are the only two which bolt to the rear suspension. This really improves structural rigidity.

My problem is that mine creaks like mad but I definitely like what it does for the chassis stiffening.

No creaking on mine. I have the factory bars installed and had to install my own mounting brackets/plates.

Is the improvement of chassis stiffening significant?

I believe the chassis stiffness is noticeable. I have a GT3 with these rollbars and a GT3RS without the rollbars. I can feel the difference especially handling in the corners.

Who or where is the best place to get RS parts i.e. roll bar etc.. I saw DAZZ or OEM bars mentioned as the best. If I want OEM do I have to go through Porsche I thought it was only a euro option sorry I've been out of the Porsche loop for quite some time glad to be back!!!!! Thanks! M-

Mariof430 if you want the OEM rollbars you can get them through the dealer or contact other tuners which are known and reputable such as Sharkwerkes. Call them and speak to Alex.
Good luck.
