First RS Track Day

I just got my RS a month ago, put on the Cup Car seats, front screens, GMG exhaust, and set up the suspension. I drove Road America this last weekend and the car was absolutely phenomenal. I have soooo much to learn! I'm still smiling....I guess that's a very good sign!

Glad to see that you are using the car for what it was built for. Have fun!

I will absolutely keep it up! I was amazed at how stable the car is at speed, the acceleration & cornering, but the braking was astonishing (I have PCCBs). I spent the first day learning how to balance braking and heel/toe smoothly. The second day was spent learning to use the full brake ability and walking my brake points done more and more. The third day I just had fun putting it all together....and what fun. Finally a cigar was in order. Thanks to everyone for the encouragement about the RS!

I was at RA this weekend. Saw your car, a real beauty. I was in Group #3 and got some good shots of your car with my camera. Send me a PM and I'll forward some pics to you.

You were luckier than the other new GT3 that found the wall off turn 14 that for sure.

Will you be going to ACC on June 9th?

Wait...

Is there any reason to NOT install front screens?

The two lower radiators seem soooo vulnerable to damage.

Did Porsche have a reason for not including screens?

They MUST have thought about it? Right?

I love the green on the 997 RS. Good to see it being used.

These things were really meant for the track! You can never exploit their potential on the road as much as you could on a track day.

Glad you enjoyed it!

Installing screens is a no-brainer mod! You can't beleive the amount of debris that lurks in that area. I have powder-coated CUP grilles on mine.

I have the 997 cup car grills. They are hard to come by, but see if your dealer can order them. Otherwise there are aftermarket versions, but I don't know much about them. The cup car grills do look great in person.

Could you post a picture or a part #? I took my RS on a roadtrip and the radiators in the front got a bit banged up
