Deviating stitching on alcantara

Anybody have pics of deviating stitching on alcantara steering wheel, shifter and ebrake?

I ordered everything deviating stitching and my steering wheel, shifter and ebrake (all alcantara) came with just standard grey stitching. My salesman said that Porsche does not offer deviating stitching on alcantara parts, yet my doors and armrest are alcantara and have deviating stitching. Perhaps this exception only applies to steering wheel, shifter, and ebrake?

Please advise.

Thanks.

You and your salesman are correct. Don't know Porsche's reasoning for the armrest and handle. I got deviating stitching on my steering wheel, but I ordered the XPA leather option.

There are upholstery shops what will do the work for you. They guarantee to use the existing stitch holes for the new threads. Don't know how much such a job will cost though.

Yup...I fought tooth over nail with PCNA over this issue for my RS. You'll have to have the items done aftermarket. Talk to Arling about it, he has someone that can do it to factory specs, if not better. I was going to do it for my RS, but ended up selling the car.

Well, apparently there is a way to order deviating stitching with alcantara but it is very obscure and not many sales people seem to know about it... maybe Jason can chime in.

Yes...you can do it...BUT...you lose the GT2/GT3 script on the E-brake handle and get Porsche written on it instead and for the shifter, you can't do it with CF, only aluminum. Trust me, I've explored this inside and out for my RS...going to the very top of PCNA and the main guy at Exclusive for PAG. In Europe, you can do something about it via Exclusive, but not in the US. Somehow, somewhere, with enough pull, I'm sure it can be done, but you really have to be personal with someone on the inside.

I would like to know the story behind that. After market maybe? If it's OEM, please provide more information. Notice that the E-brake handle still has the gray stitching though...

I stand corrected... according to the owner, the stitching in the previously posted photo was done in Dallas after delivery. Seems worth doing, to me. If you want the contact information, PM me.

Terrance

Your steering wheel, shifter and ebrake are not exclusive options, so Porsche (PCNA) does not include them in "deviating" stitching of exclusive options. So you have to order and exclusive package of those items to get deviating stitching. I tried many alternative with Newport Porsche (and they are one of the best of getting special things done), but no go.

If you get logo on rear lid you can get the stitching if its leather and same for the steering wheel if you geth thicker leather. But they won't re-stich the standard ones.

Funny that your car goes over to exclusive and they take parts off and re-stitch to meet your order, but other parts with the same finish can't get stitched. Those workers must think to themselves the silly Americans have no taste and never finish the stitching!
