Bad TPS?

An alarm keeps firing telling me my left rear tire is down 4 PSI (i.e. -4), but when I check w/ my gauge, the pressure is to spec and the same as the right rear tire. I tried running the system through its re-learn paces, but the error comes back shortly thereafter. Bad sensor? Or, is there a way to recalibrate?

Thanks in advance for any advice,

10,000+ miles and counting ... I love this car!

Fill them with nitrogen - had same issues with the higher summer temps. Nitrogen fill cured the problem.

"Peter, whats this i hear you're having problems with your TPS reports?"
"Yeah, didn't you get the memo?"

Office space reference. Sorry i had to do it.

Seriously though, hope the nitrogen fill helps out that problem.

If it's still there, I would make an appointment with the dealership to get it checked out. Remember the previous owner changed all 4 on mine so it seems to be a problem on our GT3.

yes yes a lot of people have similar issues. the dealer can turn it off for you so you won't have this problem anymore.

Problem seems to pop up when it gets hot - here in Las Vegas it happened every time the temp got close to 100. Ever since the nitrogen fill mine has been fine - no alarm - even though we've had temps over 105 the past few days.

Try Airgas.

Thanks for the info. If the dealer can disable the system, I'll just go that route.

Doubt the dealer will disable it since it's now a fed reqr and there is more to it than just changing the coding via PIWIS. @Do a google search for NitroFill - Nitrogen tire inflation Systems - they have a search for dealers by zip code.I'd bet there is a location close to you.

I have a nitrogen cylinder in my garage and I've just been lazy about getting around to it, and now it's time for new tires so I'll wait to get them. Some outfits like Discount tire (at least in my area) now offer nitrogen fills as well.

Having said that, it's odd to me that a nitrogen fill would correct the issue. Also, in my partular case, it's just the left rear wheel that's consistently showing low pressure so if it was something like ambient temps affecting the sensors (which, again, seems suspect to me) then I would think all of the sensors would be affected and the left-rear one not so consistenly off (i.e., always reporting exactly -4psi).

Had the same problem with my C2S...only way is to have the dealer reset the computer in your car. Something faulted the computer, did you disconnect your battery for any reason? Or installed something electrical?
