ceramic brake pads

Are there any special pads that have to be put on them? Any recomendations for a car that will be driven on the street occasionally but mainly on the track?

Thanks guys.

Pics of the GT2 coming soon!

I use the factory pads at Road America which is a high speed track. No problems. I inquired with a local race gear supplier about pagids and he told me to stay with the stock pads. Send pictures of your track days!

I believe if you use a non-OEM pad on your ceramic brakes, not only do you raise the risk of damaging your rotors, but you actually void the warranty on your brakes.

I also just spoke to one of our head techs, and he said that there are actually Porsche Motorsport pads that you should use for the track, as they are made for higher temps than the factory pads. Of course, don't use these pads on the street, you probably won't get them hot enough to be effective.

Either way, stick with Porsche parts on these, or swap over to iron rotors and use whatever aftermarket pads you want!

Wow, what's the mileage on your car and do you track it? They're supposed to last long.

I just replaced the tires. So looking at the pads, the fronts still have more then half left, but the rears are less then half. The rotors look ok to my novice eye.
I have 4400 miles. Around 8 track days.
I thought they would last longer. It's interesting that the rears are wearing faster then the front. But I have heard that happens on these cars.
