Urgent Advise Needed!!!

Hello all,

I'm looking at a used 2007 997 GT3 that has about 6,500 miles. It was sold at $122,000 when new and the dealer is asking $118-119,000. I'm just trying to find out if this is normal considering it is used and there is only a little price drop.

It has the ceramic brakes, special color (Slate grey), upgraded sound systme, heated seats, and etc. I believe it was optioned and sold at $122,000.

The salesperson is basically telling me there is no room for negotiation due to the fact the GT3's are sought after by many.

Please advise if there is any room for negotiation on GT3's. I appreciate your input and thank you in advance.

Seung

these cars have really held their value so well. Really hard to get so it sounds about right to me. Slate Grey is very rare... we've done one only (mostly white) which you can see here:

When I bought my car I paid about 5,000 over the sticker and many more like me have paid in excess of the sticker, I would make them produce the sticker to be sure, but a price under the sticker is likely fair. One other point which pushed me over the top. If you want it buy it because there are allot more people who want a 3 then the # of 3's that exist. its a supply and demand think at least until the new model comes out.

I appreciate the inputs. I guess I need to settle at whatever price he gives me.
Toadinlaw, how does your GT3 drive compared to your TT? It seems like I can get the used 2007 TT for nearly the same cost. One more thing, does GT3 have any rear seatbelt for toddler passenger/carseat?

Thank you, again.

I have been seeing the std GT3s even with five K miles going for 15K over MSRP.
Sounds like youre getting a good deal. GO for it.
DONT buy a TT DONT!!!! it will depreciate MUCH faster than your GT3.
There is no seat or seat belts in the rear. All of Porsches GT cars are no back seats.

Ahhh, now don't torch me, but that car has higher miles than many offered, the Brakes are great and make it more desirable, special paint (grey) is interesting but no value. Some people did pay over sticker in the beginning, but there have been plenty new cars at sticker after the initial rush. I was offered yesterday an 800 mile car, brakes, good color, Porsche certified, front bra done, $124 sticker for $119,000 from a P car dealer. Bottom line it's an OK deal-but if you like the color, want brakes (and the Brakes are important to me), and will put miles on it anyway, don't let a couple grand get in the way. They are great cars.

You must live somewhere other than California.

Thank you all! I'll just wait and see what is the best he can offer me. Hopefully by early next week, I'll have something.
Again, I appreciate all your help.

I've seen two cars go through my local dealer (MA) recently. A loaded Cobalt (with the works) and a lightly optioned (no PCCB). The Cobalt had around 5K miles and stickered at ~125. It sold for 119. The lesser optioned car is white and sticker was under 120. It's sold for 112.

I wish I had snagged the blue car...

I'll probably ask for $115,000 with clear bra (original sticker was at $122,000). If he can't match it, I guess I'll wait and see what happens.
Someone from the forum had 11% off of the sticker price and this is what I'll base my negotiation on.

For those of you with GT3 with a toddler, how do you cope with transporting your toddler? I thought all P-car's came with rear seatbelt, but I was informed that GT's don't have any rear seatbelt. This could be a deal breaker for me. Maybe I can get a cheap beater...

Thank you all for your inputs. You guys have already made me feel like I'm in your circle

Don't have any children, but all GT cars (2/3/CGT) are two-seaters. The GT2/3 have carpet only rear seat wells. Good luck with whatever you decide!
Get something a little better then a cheap beater as a kid-hauler

Buy the GT3! Here is a post at Rennlist.com wherein a member installed rear seats for his toddlers. I can't copy over the link, so look at Rennlist.com, under the 997 GT2/GT3 forum, and thread: Rear seats installed (pics). (do a thread search)

I am not sure if he sold his rear seat install parts or not. He did sell his GT3, and he did take the parts out, after all that work. It may still be available. Good luck.

I just looked at the thread. I may have the dealer install just the passenger side rear seatbelt as part of the deal. I don't think the salesman will be so happy about "highly demanding" client

I currently have the M3 and just found out the insurance will only be $32 more expensive per month than M3. So far, everything looks good and clear I just wish the dealer says yes to the rear seatbelt.
