Did you order an '08 or '09? There is some uncertainty as to whether Porsche will release a MY09 GT2.

I would suggest driving the car first before doing mods to the car. It really is quite nice out of the box. Then it depends what attributes of the car you are looking to improve.

i ordered it now so i think its an 09 model. it comes with the touch screen navi system. used to own a gemballa 996 turbo so think the gt2 might feel a lil slow to me.. (im in singapore so might be different)

I agree with Hamman7 drive the car first. If you had a Gemballa 550 the GT2 will NOT feel slow by any means. If you are looking to upgrade however GMG makes a really nice all around package.

I did a DME remap by FVD. Caught a lot of crap from different threads for modifying. Out of the box, I think the car is a demon. The remap took the HP from 530 to 580. While I think I can tell you I feel it, I wonder, at what HP max that it really matters any more and you can notice? I guess 700 HP might be different, but I am not sure the tires can hold it anyway. Maybe it helps in top end, but there are limitations to tire traction compared to weight. You can only get there so fast. FVD charged $4k for the change thru the dealer. I have a warranty. Other companies charge less, make different HP, etc.

09's are coming. Dealer in Dallas has one on way and it is an 09.

That Gemballa is a monster and wish it was done to my Speed Yellow.

Confirmed by Sales Manager who is a good friend. Don't know if it will be technically called an 09, but they are saying it is an 09.

Slow if you compare the GT2 with your Stg3 M3! .... but a GT2 is overall nice in every aspect.

i was going to do some mods to my GT2 as well. but the more i drive it, the more i like it just the way it sits. it is so well balanced and fun to drive. i would recommend you do the same before you start modding it.
