Since when does a stock 997 GT3 trap 120 mph??? I missed that one. And even so, M6's are not great 1/4 mile cars, so the trap speed is not indicative of what they can do from a roll and after 100mph.

Either way, from a roll, the M6 is faster, but this race isnt all that unrealistic, a better driver in the RS could beat the M6. I've driven a stock GT3 vs a slightly modded M6 but with a passenger in the M and it was all I could do to keep the M6 within 1-2 car lengths We determined from driving the M6 before and after mods that the M6 and GT3 would be close to even in stock form.

This is beleivable with a better driver in the GT3, but on the average I'd give the nod to the M6.

i own all three cars ( 997gt3 (modded) , Z06 (very Modded) and M5 (slightly modded)

stock z06 faster than all
997gt3 faster than stock M5
997gt3 vs M5 with exhaust and ecu (M5 fatser 140mph +)
modded M5 vs modded Z06 (M5 stands no chance) even with Nos
stock Z06 trap 130MPH with slicks and a simpe tune.
modded 997gt3 (ECU, header, intake) vs M5 with same Mod = 997gt3 faster.

i ran and posted my slip 997gt3 stock (no mods at all ) = 11.9@120mph
now i should run atleast 11.6 or 11.5 as my car is much lighter and more HP.
thats as fast as the M5 with Nos.

Interesting, I had no idea the 997 GT3 could trap 120, heck if that's the case, its faster than the GT-R in a straight line. And I agree it should beat an M5 in a drag race.

But a roll race I still side with the M6, havent driven an M5. But you are ony seeing part of what they can do from a dig, they shine on the highway from a roll. I wish I had that video, because I can shift my butt off, but there was no way the GT3 was going to keep up with that M6 and the passenger saved it from being 4-5 cars, and hardly modded at all. I drove it stock too and it wasnt that much sower.

I have raced an M5 before for a good 5miles or so, the guy cudnt get pass me or near enough to my ***...but then again I was a little aggressive to play as it wasn't exactly a clear traffic but reasonably clear to allow both of us to zig zag a little...

Man I wanted to stay away from this ****.
The video of the modded Z06 vs the modded M6 well, wow the vette could only keep a one car length up to 180. Now lets see, the vette its 600 lbs lighter, 2 seat coupe and better aerodynamics. Not impressed.
BTW did you see my video in this thread of my M5 against a heavily modded Z06 (530 rwhp). We ran 60 to 180 mph. I know that doen't matter to you. As I am concern when you say modded, well anything goes.

I own these cars and no way in hell will a GT3 out pull an M5 or M6.
Anyone with a GT3 who wants to run me in my M5 PLEASE contact me. Lets do it and film it.

My GT3 weighs 2,970 lbs with 392 rwhp and my M5 makes a joke of it.
Like I said, once you modify all bets are off and anything goes.

BTW you mention a modded M5 has no chance against a modded Z06.

Buddy your GT3 doesn't have a prayer against an M5. You feel you held him off, it was probably due to traffic.

Get real, the GT3 will not out run an M5/M6.

It will be interesting when we complete our project here in So. Florida with ASR and the motor in the works for the M5.

This is so much fun. Right now I challenge any local GT3 or GT3RS to run my M5..

GT3Ranger should prolly learn how to read and make an argument. This was a GT3 RS and a M6. At no point in the video was there an appearence by a modified M5 or a Z06.

Stock for stock i would say the cars should be pretty close with a slight advantage to the M6 from a roll, but the M6 had a passenger and that can easily account for at least one car length.

You're challenging GT3's and GT3RS's with your 581rwhp M5? Why not challenge a Civic SI while you're at it. Better yet, how about you challenge a CGT instead or a TechArt modified 997TT with 630hp, at least make it more challenging for your 581rwhp M5. I see you didn't have any response to this vid from M5board.com. Again this is stock M6 vs stock Z06 from 50kph to 250kph. Enjoy.

I have little doubt that the V10 is easier to get hp from, so even mildly modified I think it would be a different story, but stock for stock it looks like evidence again points to the GT3 being slightly quicker...

Stranger things have happened to less power cars. I lost to a Scion xC off the line. But then again he didn't know I wasn't racing...I am sure he posted that story on his board saying he took me.

The much heated debate can go on forever. We are now comparing mod to stock. stock to stroker cars as well as what seems to be a BIG plug for ASR. Stock for Stock was the original arguement wasn't it? It has now gone to modified this and modified that..

In Rangers defense, i have heard from friends of the M6 doing 120 in the 1/4 mile. And also, C&D did 121mph in 12.5 with the M6 as well. I'm not doubting the M5's and M6's performance at all, i'm just discussing with Ranger that his comparison with a non-modded car vs a stock car is reallly not a fair one. NOT saying you can't compare them, hell you can compare anything from a Veyron vs Smart if you want.

stock for stcok , the m6 will pull away from a gt3 anything over 120 its over . some of you can post videos magazine time or whatever you please , fact is both given equal drivers and a roll on , the m6 will stomp a mud hole in it and walk it dry.
