But a roll race I still side with the M6, havent driven an M5. But you are ony seeing part of what they can do from a dig, they shine on the highway from a roll. I wish I had that video, because I can shift my butt off, but there was no way the GT3 was going to keep up with that M6 and the passenger saved it from being 4-5 cars, and hardly modded at all. I drove it stock too and it wasnt that much sower.

Have you run the cars stock from a roll???

i own a gtr aswell...

Very good point. Truly did not think of that. The problem then comes to being able to find a stock M5/M6 around here and an owner who would be willing to run his car.

To my general knowledge every M5/M6 is modded down in these parts.

The weather has been crappy lately to make matters worse.

Will keep working at it.

Cheers,
Ranger

Well, I raced my stock 996 GT3 against a friend's M6 a couple of weeks back. We were both curious how fast the GT3 really was and we both were expecting his stock M6 to romp on my 380hp GT3. Well, surprise, surprise to us both my GT3 beat his M6 in two races by half a car or so from 50-240kmh.

Sorry we had no video but here's a article on some of the times the 6GT3 has gotten:

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...fications.html

Hence, a stock 7GT3 should also beat an M6 given that the 7GT3 is .1 sec quicker than the 6GT3 or at least equal. Just my 2 cents.

996 GT3 beats M6 I'm going to have to call driver mod or slow M6.

Like I said, no mods on either cars and the M6 driver is a very experienced car enthusiast. In that article I posted above then would you say the same considering the slightly lighter Ferrari Stradale has 45hp more and yet still gets whipped by the 996 GT3 in all aceleration numbers? 0-60 3.9, 0-100 9.1, and 1/4 mile 12.07!!! Car and Driver also clocked the 996 GT3 3.8 in a preliminary test back in 2003.

Look what the 996 GT3 does to the F430:

I've driven a 996 GT3 against an M6 and it wasnt pretty, both stock. Drivers both the same weight. The M6 just walked away, from any speed no matter what I did.

But I dont want to start any more pissing matches. My experience was completely different than yours in that case.

Sorry, I don't buy any of that at all. I've provided lots of proof on how fast the 996 GT3 really is but you seemd to have ignored it all.

Good day.

What does this have to do with a rolling race which is the topic of discussion???

Nevermind............... not worth the time.

Once again did you even read it??

"0-62mph was once clocked at 4.0 seconds, and in full flow the driver would embrace 190mph, a hefty return from a 3.6-litre flat six block. If you really concentrated the 996 GT3 would create 1.0g of gravitational pull, if you were brave enough to indulge in a spot of sideways shenanigans. 284lb-ft of torque played its part to perfection whenever asked too."

I don't recall the M6 ever getting these types of numbers. Furthermore, the 6GT3 would kill the M6 on any track. The best handling car in the world has long been the GT3.

If a slightly lighter Ferrari Stradale has 45hp more than the 996 GT3 and yet still gets whipped by the 6GT3 in all acceleration numbers then how the hell does a car weighing 1000lbs more "walk away" from the GT3 with only an extra 75 hp above the Stradale? Why can't you answer my questions or provide me with any numbers to back you up on the M6?

What does 0-60 have to do with a roll race when everyone knows BMW's are not great at launching?????

Sideways shenanigans and the track have nothing at all to do with this thread. No one is trying to compare the overall ability other than you.

Getting a little chilly in that corner all by yourself???

You havent proven anything other than you dont know what the topic is and that you know how to post useless information. Thanks.

Hey heavychevy I'm with you brother.
For me it is not that I dislike the GT3. As you know ForcaGT3 I own a GT3 and a GT3RS along with an E60 M5. I love then and the reason I own them is because I know just how great they are.

Now ForcaGT3 I posted earlier in this thread 2 videos.
One was a 997GT3 running a Lambo Gallardo (spyder) 50 to 250 km/hr.
The Lambo wins.
Now the exact same Lambo (not another one) runs an M6 in the same parameters and gets walked. So as you say, can you not draw the conclusion? Yes I know you do not believe the videos. Okay why should I believe a video of a 996GT3 walking an F430?
Similar weights for the two but the Ferrari has 100 bhp advantage?

The videos I submitted were all totally stock cars.

I can not find a stock M6 in my area that would want to participate. All willing participants are very modded.

It would be great if you could provide video of your runs withe an M6.

Cheers,
Ranger
