115's in the quarter isn't exactly the great rice rocket that Nissan claimed them to be.

it is impossible for a car that weighs 3800 pounds and has 473 bhp be that fast in the ring I was sure they did smt to the car from the beginning. I dont care how good the tranny is or the awd system the 7:29 time is impossible
This is a great day! It is high noon and Porsche has called Nissan out. Porsche would not make such a claim unless they were certain Nissan was using tricks. It sure is not the first time Nissan has done this. Porsche knows they will have to back such a claim up. It should get very intersting now. You go, Porsche!!!
If you read other sections on this website, it seems the Nissan is more like a 12 second, 114 mph car.

Will be interesting to see how and if Nissan respond to this.
Just pointing out that the picture of the 1/4 mile runs is a bit deceptive. I do believe that the GTR is limited to a max speed of 180-185 km/h in stock form.... hence why both lanes have a trap speed of ~ 115 mph.
Will be interesting to see how and if Nissan respond to this.

But regardless, I can't wait for Nissan to respond to Porsche's press release.

Correct, there is no speed limitation on the US models. I can't wait for a response either. I find it very hard to believe that a car that weighs almost 4000 lbs and has 480 hp can pull off a 7:29 ring time.
a post by an NAGTROC memeber...
-Top Gear has the GT-R on their track beating the Turbo and GT3
oh but top gear is only entertainment and the turbo's run was in very wet conditions
-5th Gear has the GT-R beating the Turbo with B Senna driving
oh but it's still just a show
-R&T has the GT-R beating the Turbo at Buttonwillow
oh but they had steve millen who was paid off
-C&D has the GT-R beating the Turbo at Reno
oh but C&D is worthless anyway these are from american magazines who know nothing other than drag racing
-Autocar has the GT-R beating the GT3
oh they're from europe and not that big anyway
-Evo has the GT-R beating the GT3; with a speed limited customer car
oh theyre no longer the standard
-SPORTAUTO GOT PORSCHE'S TIME WITHOUT EVEN GOING ALL OUT, JUST GETTING A FEEL FOR THINGS...
Let Porsche keep talking. Nothing wrong with giving them a little rope...

I am always on Porsche side but at least Nissan never undermined Walter's 997 Ring times in the way Porsche just did with the GT-R... Why not just make a better car to beat GT-R rather than the pointless accusation?

In the magazines they are but the other ones are not.
There are a few in FLA trapping 114, one trapped 117 at Etown which is the fastest track in the country. These two trapping 115. There are far more 114-115, than 118-121. In fact a modded one trapped 118.
117 @ Etown = 114 most anywhere other than the northeast.
