Selling my 997 turbo for 2010 GT3

Just got a call from my dealer about the new GT3. They are giving me there first spot at MSRP. I am giving them my turbo back and should have the new GT3 around Fall.

Exactly. I took my turbo out to the track this past weekend for the second time. I was really dissapointed in how the car handled. It was great on the straight away and in the corners it was pathetic. I know you would need a professional to know how drive the turbo properly, but the car gives you no confidence. I got a chance to drive a GT3 and it was a night and day difference in handling. The turbo doesn't even come close. The turbo is a great car but I put in the same catergory as an SL 63 or 65. A super luxury car.

That's why I sold my turbo. Porsche softened it too much. At least the GT-R has changed Porsche's viewpoint.

The current Gt3 is quite a beast. The new one will be more of one. It will be even more streetable with the new powerband.

i always fear the RR model on porsche, all that power on the rear wheels + end in the back scares the crap out of me. i always think the back end will slip. i do A LOT of canyon runs out here in LA, most of the canyons r really tight twisties. i figure since the turbo is awd and has all that power, it would handle pretty fair compared to the GT3.

see my problem is this...
i dislike awd
i love rwd
i love power
i want a gt3 coz of its trackablity...but its hard to make power on a NA motor
i want a turbo coz well its a turbo haha
i wan around 600whp but that will be really difficult with the gt3 and very easy on turbo

idkkk....what u guys think?

You've made a great choice.
I love my 997GT3 but I do hate the sunroof.
The new GT3's I believe will be without sunroofs.
There will be no direct injection.

I spoke with my contact guy and salesman at Champion and was told that they have nothing yet regarding taking deposits and so on. Have pricing even been decided?
I will check with him again.
The new one does look sweet.

$112,200 base. Nothing on option pricing yet, however.
