New Product - GT3 Rear Brake Cooling Ducts

A new item for the 2007-08 GT3 & GT3 RS models. This is the same set which comes on the 2010 GT3, and we just installed them on a 2007 GT3. They are a direct fit, some minor triming of the brake shield is required.

They pull air from the underside of the car, and channel it to the rear brake system. This results in lower brake temperatures leading to greater braking performance under high loads, as well as reduced wear.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

We tested these on C2's and C4's, and Turbo, and the stabilizer drop-links made it impossible to install. So I know it fits 997 GT3's, it may fit a 997 GT2 (we will try to test it, we need a test mule).

Does it pull the air out of the current vent that is uses to feed the current cooling guide? if not, what will happen when it rains?

Is the price on your web for one or for the set of two? Do you have in stock?

Click HERE for pricing and more info.

This won't fit a 996 to my knowledge, we will try to test it on a 996 GT3. Currently there are none on the GT3, so this is a significant addition. The price on the website is for both sides, including the mounting bracket and bolts.

Not sure about standard 997's, the GT2 ducts may be an option, but they aren't nearly as effective as these monsters.

I received my ducts but the top portion seems too tight to fit over the lower control arm. I broke one and can't get the other to come into contact with the duct portion....it will break if I try to tighten the screws. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

They are a perfect fit on mine and no filament or install issues. But the shields do need to be trimmed. Did you maybe mix up the left and right top clamp portions?

I thought of the right/left issue, but the top part says right or left and the bottom is obvious. For mine, the top just won't fit around the suspension arm. When I do get it over the arm it's overstretched to the point that the tabs won't fit into the brake duct portion. I've tried moving it inboard/outboard a bit without success. ??????

There are two little 'teeth' on the top side of each edge of the lower control arm. The top section should mount on the outboard side of these teeth, against it. Is that how you mounted it? You'll also have to have the three 'fingers' inserted into the duct while clasping the top portion over the control arm, or you won't be able to attach the fingers into it afterwards.

rear cooling duct brackets

I initially broke the brackets when installing the rear cooling ducts. Then I remembered that I had changed the rear lower control arms. They are slightly wider. In order to install, you have to shave off the plastic "ribs" that are present on the internal aspect of the plastic brackets. Once this is done, the brackets fit well.
