Well it is a big shock that the Enzo beat the CGT by .8 on a 1:19 TG track after getting smacked by the CGT by over a second on a sub 60 second track by AMS. Then again, AMS's comparision was more accurate since they tested the cars back to back rather than months apart like TG.

Any links to that comparison ben? I think Enzo is still the champ, cant argue with more power and a far superior gearbox.

It was on Auto Motor und Sport TV, in their magazine, and maybe somewhere on here:

Actually you can argue less rotating mass and a lower center of gravity (both a result of the inferior gearbox - actually the clutch) has gone a long way toward negating any power or F1 gearbox advantage the Enzo possesses - at least on tighter tracks.

ben, its true that the CGT is more packaged/smaller and the enzo is more designed for modern longer circuits (bahrain, seca, etc...)

On the clutch comment... Actually GT's clutch is nothing special or new, Tilton makes the same exact thing for most cars. A buddy nof mine uses the same type clutch on his 1200HP supra, its a full carbon/carbon 3disk clutch, which is half the size of the stock clutch (if not less) and is 1/4'th the weight. Again, for about $3500 you can get the same clutch

The Enzo is the badest thing to hit the road ever IMO, I have been in the CGT and it is a nice car but not worth 500k. The fact that the Enzo beat it does not suprise me however the CGT is still a real beast no doubt!

Compare them @retail, the Enzo listed at $630k or so not the $1,000,000 + it sells for that must be for a reason, demand outnumbered the supply, gee you think Porsche might have thought of this one. The CGT's are barley selling at list.!

Smile

They're both ugly, but the CGT does give considerably more bang for the buck, even if slower by a tick on certain circuits. Besides, they're both street rides; for a track car many fewer dollars could be spent for a better result, and for a street car I'm not timing laps --- I want the driver involvement of a clutch pedal.

I'm glad Porsche made too many of 'em; I now stand a very good shot at owning one inside of 5 yrs or so. Mmmm'n, CGT . . .

The clutch on the CGT sucks to drive it is worse then the 1988 coupe I had as far as very serious pressure and it comes up from the floor and is interconnected on this carbon fiber piece with the brake pedal, the car is very very hard to shift fast and it stalls very very easily. I was lucky enough to drive one, however on the + side very fast , great sound. For that matter when you are spending 500k whats the diff to 650k (Enzo list) if you have to think you want nor can afford neither!
